704 Hauser Street

This was written 35 years ago while I was at Northern Illinois University on another bitterly cold day. You will note that although classes were cancelled, and cars would not start, we still managed to get to the liquor store. It was a ritual that anyone on our floor that was not at class would gather to do a few afternoon bongs and watch reruns of the ground breaking sitcom..

Waiting For All In The Family

A quarter to two
And nothing to do
I'm waiting for “All In The Family”
It's fifty below
The cars will not go
I'm waiting for “All In The Family”
No classes today
We all shout 'Hurray!'
I'm waiting for “All In The Family”
My roommate is bored
What to do Lord
I'm waiting for “All In The Family”
A run to the store
To buy some liquor
I'm waiting for “All In The Family”
Skateboard down the hall
With nary a fall
I'm waiting for “All In The Family”
Rock & roll pounding
The volume astounding
I'm waiting for “All In The Family”
No one's got grass
That's a bite in the ass
I'm waiting for “All In The Family”
Fifteen minutes have passed
Time sure goes fast
It's now time for “All In The Family”
